Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. The actress has received praise for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. She began her career by acting on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Awed by acting since school days she played Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. Her mumps made her blind and deaf on one ear. However, she didn't let this hinder her from becoming an actor. The college she attended was drama before moving to Pittsburgh into New York City to follow her passions. After a casual encounter, she became stuck in an elevator together with the playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart the play that would become Hunter's debut. After moving in Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged the role of a co-star in Swing Shift. The actress has appeared in many movies, television shows and movies over the course of her career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
